Feather Your Nest is a multi-dealer antique store, an eclectic vintage and antique shop that
features ever changing unique treasures. Our merchandise ranges from classic period pieces to
one-of-kind finds. The experienced collector to beginners –
everyone can find something special.
Geralyn Wojtowicz
In the 1960’s Ger began collecting with her grandma Julia in Chicago. Her grandparents were immigrants from Poland and they lost much during the depression, even though they both stayed employed, grandpa as a tailor and grandma as a seamstress, it was often difficult on them and their two small daughters. As a result her grandma became quite skilled at scouting out treasures at rummage sales and thrift shops. She taught this skill to Ger.Their favorite hunting ground was at St. Vincent Depaul’s White Elephant on Lincoln Avenue. Today Ger is rarely in Chicago but if she is, you will find her at the White elephant.
As an adult Ger became addicted to garage sales, estate sales and auctions. This addiction led to selling. First as a picker for a friend who owned a shop. Next as a seller at the Angliana Antique Show in Lexington. And most recently as an owner at Feather your Nest. Ger loves the hunt. She loves cleaning and preparing old treasures. It is important to her that the items are preserved for the future. She upcycles, recycles, or reuses almost everything. Her taste is eclectic. One never knows what she will find to sell at the Nest.
Sharon Woodrum
Sharon was born and raised in Lexington. Her career focus has always been centered around the financial end of business, most recently the manager of auditing services for the judicial branch of government. In 1999 she joined Geralyn in her antique adventure by selling with her at the Angliana Antique Show.
Sharon’s mother Patsy encouraged Sharon and Ger to open their own shop “Feather Your Nest” in 2001. After 10 years of paying rent they decided to purchase land and build their permanent home located at 1317 W. Main Street in Lexington. Sharon plans on retiring in 2022 and she looks forward to spending her retirement years at the Nest.
Betty Quarles
Betty, the third partner at Feather Your Nest was born and raised in Lexington. An avid life long collector of art nouveau and art deco treasures. Betty was a 17 year dealer at the Angliana Antique Show specializing in vintage clothing for women, men and children plus vintage & antique costume jewelry. Betty designed and sold original jewelry made from antique jewelry pieces and buttons. She sold her pieces at various juried art shows throughout the midwest for 20 years.
If you like to drive by our shop to admire our window displays, know that Betty always plays a significant role in their design and setup.
Betty’s trained eye can pick out treasures at any sale. She is especially drawn to anything antique or vintage that was hand crafted; needlework, tramp art or furniture. In addition she loves old jewelry and clothing. Come in and see what she may have found for you.
